The Bonsai Salad

The Bonsai Salad

This is one of my favorite salads! There are a lot of ingredients to this and it takes some time to prepare. However it makes enough for a few days so I just take it to lunch with me. I used this recipe from Mimi Kirk's web page. If you dont know who she is, she was PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian over 50 and I swear the woman looks unreal! She's gorgeous and I hope I look that good when I'm her age! I added a few touches to my recipe which are the edamame and the avocado. Also Mimi's recipe called for kumquats but they are not in season right now so I used cuties instead for the citrus that was needed. When kumquats are in season I recommend you try them, they are really good snacks.  When I'm all done I always sprinkle sesame seeds on top! It is delicious and also very healthy for you!

White Gold

Maxi Dress Dalit, Necklace Anthropologie Fairburn Necklace, Bracelet Target, Belt Forever 21, Ring Gold Baby Ring, Sandals Xhilaration Target.

I love maxi dresses. If I could only own one thing it would be a maxi dress. They are so comfortable and casual yet if you add some accessories like this statement necklace, it makes it almost formal. When I saw this necklace on Anthropologie I knew that it needed to be a part of my collection because of its versatility and the white stones will go with just about everything for summer. Maxi dresses are just so easy to dress down with flats and dress up for night with sky high wedges! My go to when all else fails and when I'm being too lazy/tired to put to much thought into what I'm going to wear that particular day.

Natures Pharmacy

It's been said that “Mother Nature” first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. She made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners, everything we need to keep a healthy body and mind are right here...

 Mother Nature left us
great clues as to what foods help what part of our body!

Nature's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopene and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood
vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocados, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Petal Pink

Shirt Rory Beca For Forever 21, Belt H&M, Pants Express, Jacket Guess, Shoes Steve Madden, Purse Bagtique, Earrings and Charm Bracelet Vintage, Necklace Forever 21

Skinny jeans and a relaxed top have become an everyday thing for me. I work full time, go to school at night, and find that it's very hard to put forth the extra time and effort to look cute and trendy! However this look never fails. The beautiful petal pink and matching necklace against the light gray pants is a very feminine soft combo perfect for spring! These suede booties are adorable and are easy to mix with a bunch of different outfits and are in the most unusual color, they are not pink and not purple. I thought I was going to have a hard time finding things to wear them with but they go with everything neutral in color.

Raw Asian Kale Salad

Raw Asian Kale Salad

Here's the line up.

1 Red bell pepper

1 Avocado

1 Apple

1 Pepper

Mini Heirloom Tomatoes

Ginger

For The Dressing

Raw Almond Butter

Organic Tamari

Maple Syrup

Sesame Seeds

Chopped Garlic

Organic Kale

I put mine in water for about 20 minutes to "revitalize" it.

Kale is extremely firm if eaten raw. To brake it down and wilt it, just squeeze it and rub it back and forth in your hands.

It will look like this after, half the size it was.

Using a spoon, scrape the ginger skin off and chop it up.

All the ingredients chopped and ready to go in with the kale.

The dressing for the salad

4 Tablespoons of raw almond butter

1 Pepper (red or green)

1 Inch of ginger

1 Tablespoon of chopped garlic

4 Teaspoons Tamari

2-3 Teaspoons of maple syrup

Water to thin

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the salad when done

This salad is not only healthy, it's also delicious!

Onyx Rain

Dress BCX, Blazer Bebe, Belt Forever 21, Boots Michael Kors,  Gloves Vintage hand made in Italy, Umbrella M.A.C. Cosmetics Employee Christmas Gift, Necklace Forever 21, Earrings Forever 21, Watch M.A.C. Employee Christmas Gift, Bracelets Forever 21.

It has been ugly weather here in Stockton lately so I decided I could at least make my day as pretty as I could with my outfit. An all black outfit reminds me of my old job so I had to incorporate the watch and umbrella! It's a professional look with an edge, my favorite look! A classic well fitting blazer can instantly make any outfit look pulled together. I love that this one from bebe is lined inside with a black and white design that makes you take a closer look. Gloves add instant glam factor to any outfit. This is usually how I wear my hair for work since it's fast and out of my face for the office. I usually have a hard time finding boots that fit my calves from years of playing competitive soccer but these actually fit due to the stretch factor and I was surprised. All of these pieces are extremely versatile.
